CLAYWORKS // COMMUNITY

MEMBERSHIP

Clayworks on Columbia provides master potters with the equipment, glazes, kilns, exhibitions and necessary support services to enhance their skills and to improve their access to the general neighborhood and Brooklyn’s expanding artistic communities.

At this time, all members are required to be fully vaccinated and wear a mask at all times while in the studio.

STUDIO USE

You’ll be given your own key, so the studio is yours to use anytime we don’t have classes or workshops in session. Our studio tools include wheels, slab roller, extruder and an assortment of other small tools.

SHELF SPACE

Members will have dedicated personal shelf space to store ware and tools, as well as shared shelf space available to store works in progress.

GLAZES + FIRING

Use of studio and available commercial glazes is included. Members are not required to fire their own kiln, though we are always willing to train. You can pay per piece or per kiln.

GALLERY

Members have the ability to participate in our Holiday sale as well as other gallery walks and exhibitions throughout the year.

Members are responsible for their own materials including, but not limited to, clay, underglaze, and glazes used in bulk. Firing fees apply on a per kiln basis (firing fee schedule is posted at the studio). Membership fees range from $225+ per month.

Unfortunately, our studio is not suitable for high volume/production potters.
